Key items on the agenda are:

  • Clerk recruitment.
  • Current planning applications, including the replacement of the fire damaged building at The Old Well; siting of two mobile homes at Corbett; changing an agricultural building into three homes at Higher Reed Farm, Burlescombe.
  • The results of our residents’ survey.
  • Our budget and the precept (the part of your Council Tax that funds the Parish Council).

Last year’s precept was just over £12,000, which meant that a Band D household paid £36.14 for the year, the equivalent of £3.01 per month.

This important discussion to set the coming year’s precept can now take place, having finally gained access to the Parish Council bank account on 2 January and having recently received the district council’s bill for the election in June, which is over £5,000. At the meeting, Councillors will review all the costs for the coming year and decide how to proceed.

Following the meeting, we’ll share the full details of that discussion, the decision made and what it means for you.

See the full agenda here. As usual, parishioners are welcome to come along to the meeting, or the informal drop-in session from 6.30pm.
