Residents often have queries or concerns about quarry activities, whether about lorries, the roads, dust, blasting or other topics. We have clarified with the quarry how things can be raised with them directly, and we have listed below other organisations you may wish to contact.

Whatever your comment, concern or complaint – if you can – please let the Parish Council know – by copying clerk@burlescombeparishcouncil.gov.uk into your correspondence, or sending a summary of your query/concern to that address, or attending a meeting. This will ensure the Council understands residents’ views, so we can represent you better when we attend the regular Quarry Liaison Meetings with Holcim UK.

If residents have a question, concern or complaint they would like to raise with the quarry, these can be directed to the Quarry Manager.

If you have a concern that relates to Environmental Health (for example air quality/dust), you should also raise this with the Mid Devon Environmental Health Team via their online form or call 01884 255255 and ask to be directed to Environmental Health.

Depending on the nature of the issue, you may also wish to contact the Environment Agency.

You may also want to consider ensuring your District Councillors Jane Lock and Gill Westcott, your County Councillor Simon Clist, and Member of Parliament Rachael Gilmour are aware of anything you are raising.

We’re developing a webpage to house more information about the quarry and will publicise this as soon as it’s ready.
