What if the power went off, water supplies were interrupted or extensive flooding cut our community off from the rest of the area? Do you know what we would do? What equipment and supplies do we have or need? How will we communicate? Who needs extra support?
With extreme weather becoming more frequent, these are things we need to prepare for.
Join Burlescombe Parish Council on Saturday 28 November from 14:00–16:00 at Burlescombe & Westleigh Community Hall to hear about our draft Emergency Plan, ask questions and find out about how we can all work together to prepare.
Devon Communities Together will be there to help us with both household and community emergency planning – so this is a great chance to learn from some experts and feel ready for if the worst happens.
We’ve invited people from neighbouring parishes as well, so we can work together as much as possible.
Come along so you can:
- know how to prepare your household and start working on your plan.
- understand how we’ll look after each other.
- ask questions of experts.
- share your resources, knowledge or skills that will help the community.
No one else will do this for us, the more people who get involved, the better prepared we can be when an emergency comes along.
If you have any questions, please email clerk@burlescombeparishcouncil.gov.uk.
