The Annual Parish Meeting isn’t a Council meeting. It’s your chance as a community to get together to discuss anything you’d like to about living here and improvements that could be made. It’s informal and everyone is welcome.

Organisations and voluntary/community groups will provide reports, residents can bring ideas or ask questions, and the Council will share information about activities over the past year and plans for the coming year.

We’re working on a wide range of things on behalf of the community, but we’d love to hear more from residents about what matters to them. In case it inspires you to come along, here’s a list of current topics affecting the parish:

  • housing provision and planning
  • water quality, biodiversity and the environment
  • the roads (of course)
  • quarry operations
  • local facilities and services
  • emergency planning (what will we do if there is a prolonged power cut or water supply interruption or similar event?)

Maybe there’s a topic not on the list that you feel we should know about? Come along and tell us!

Any organisation/group who wants to give a report should email clerk@burlescombeparishcouncil.gov.uk so they can be added to the agenda.

It will be followed by the Annual Meeting of the Parish Council, this is where we conduct Council business, and decide on our chair and vice-chair and committee/working group memberships for the coming year. It is a more formal meeting, but, as with all Parish Council meetings, is open to the public.

Both agendas will be uploaded soon.
