Have your say on the future of local councils
Local Government Reorganisation (LGR) will change how our services are provided - moving from having both Devon County and Mid Devon District Councils to one 'unitary' council. There are five options on the table, on which you can now give your views.

At the moment, in our area:
- Devon County Council provides services such as education, transport, libraries, social services, public health and trading standards.
- And Mid Devon District Council provide services such as environmental health, licensing, housing, planning applications, sports centres, parks, waste collection and recycling services.
All of the five proposals (put together by different councils) would change how our services are provided, with one Council providing these services. But each proposal suggests dividing Devon into different areas.
Read the proposals and give your views on the Devon LGR website. The consultation closes at midnight on 26 March 2026.
