Upcoming road closures
We've received advanced warning of some upcoming road closures in the area, including on the A38 in the coming weeks.

- There will be essential highway maintenance on behalf of Devon County Council on the A38 from Monday 20 July until Friday 4 September from 1900hrs, weather permitting. The road will be closed from the junction with Appledore to the Somerset Boarder, a signed diversion will be in place. We will share more information on this if (hopefully when) we receive it.
Additionally, we’ve been notified of the following:
- Closure of ROAD PAST WESTCOTT FARM, WESTLEIGH on TUESDAY 25 AUGUST 2026, between the hours of 08:00 and 18:00.
- Closure of ROAD PAST CROSSES FARM, BURLESCOMBE on TUESDAY 1 SEPTEMBER 2026, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30.
- Closure of ROAD FROM TRUMPS CROSS TO BLACKSMITHS CROSS, SAMPFORD PEVERELL on TUESDAY 25 AUGUST 2026 between the hours of 08:00 and 18:00.
